The Critical Web Reader (CWR) is designed to enable students, teachers, and schools to focus on effective teaching and productive learning using web information sources.  The primary objectives of the CWR are:

1. To help students to become more skillful and analytical readers of Internet sources
2. To support teachers to better organize, manage, and deliver Internet-based experiences for students
3. To empower schools, districts, and other educational institutions  to meet Common Core State Standards and achieve large-scale 21^st century learning and teaching goals

Since 2005, more than 3,000 students in middle school, secondary school, and university classrooms in the United States, Taiwan, and Singapore have used the CWR to become more skilled and savvy readers of information on the Internet.
